Who we are

Saekkal ("we," "us") is a personal-color app. This policy explains what the app does with information when you use it. If anything here is unclear, contact us at saekkalapp@outlook.com.

Your photo

To work out your color season, the app sends your selfie over an encrypted connection to our own grading server. There, it is read by a fixed color engine and then deleted immediately. For color grading we do not keep it, we do not log it, and we do not pass it to any outside company. The optional AI Glow-Up works differently and is described in its own section below.

• Your photo is never stored after grading.
• Your photo is never used to train any model or algorithm.
• Your photo is never sold or shared with advertisers.
• If you use the "Try a sample face" option, no photo of yours is involved at all.

Face data

Because your selfie shows your face, here is exactly how face data is handled, point by point.

• What we collect. The only face data the app handles is (1) the selfie you choose to submit and (2) temporary facial landmark points (positions of features like cheeks and forehead) that our color engine detects on that photo in memory while it runs. We do not create or keep any faceprint, face template, or other biometric identifier, and we cannot recognize or identify you.
• How it is used. Face data is used for one purpose only: locating the skin areas of your photo so the engine can read their color and compute your color season. It is not used for identification, authentication, advertising, profiling, or training any model or algorithm.
• Sharing. For color grading, your photo is processed only on our own grading server by our own software, and no outside company receives it. The one exception is the optional AI Glow-Up (see the section below): if you choose to create one, your selfie is sent to a third-party AI image provider solely to render that look. We never share your face data for advertising, profiling, or identification.
• Storage. Your photo is held only in the grading server's temporary working memory and a temporary file while the analysis runs. It is never written to a database, never backed up, and never logged. The landmark points live only in memory during the analysis.
• Retention. Face data is retained only for the seconds the analysis takes. The photo and all landmark data are deleted automatically and immediately when the analysis finishes, whether it succeeds or fails. Nothing derived from your face is kept except the final non-biometric result (your color season), which is stored only on your own phone.

AI Glow-Up (optional)

Saekkal Premium includes an optional AI Glow-Up that relights your own selfie in your color season. This feature runs only when you choose to create a look; it never happens automatically.

• How it works. To render the image, your selfie is sent over an encrypted connection to our own server and then to a third-party AI image provider that generates the relit picture and returns it.
• Not retained. We configure that provider so your selfie is not kept in its history, and the finished image is returned to you and not stored on our servers. Your selfie and the result are never used to train any model and are never sold.
• Still no biometrics. No faceprint, face template, or biometric identifier is ever created, and the image is used only to make the look you asked for.

What stays on your device

Your quiz answers and your color result are saved locally on your phone only (so the app can show you your season again). They are not uploaded to us. Deleting the app removes them.

Accounts

There are no accounts and no passwords. We do not ask for your name, email, or sign-in of any kind to use the app.

Usage analytics

So we can see what is and isn't working and improve the app, we collect anonymous usage events through PostHog (for example: which screens are viewed, which season was shown, whether a card was shared or a purchase was made). These events contain no photos and no names and are not used to identify you.

Purchases

If you subscribe or buy a lifetime pass, the purchase is handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, which manages your subscription status so the app knows what you've unlocked and can restore it. We never see your card details.

Service providers we use

• Our grading server (hosted on Fly.io) - reads your photo to compute your season, then deletes it.
• An AI image provider - only when you create an optional AI Glow-Up, renders your relit picture and returns it, without keeping your selfie.
• PostHog - anonymous usage analytics.
• Apple & RevenueCat - purchases and subscription status.

Children

Saekkal is a general beauty/entertainment app and is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, please do not use it.

Your choices

You can clear your on-device data anytime by using "Start over" in the app or by deleting the app. For any privacy request or question, email saekkalapp@outlook.com and we'll help.

A note on accuracy

Personal color from a single casual selfie is a guide, not a medical or scientific measurement. Saekkal is honest about that limit and never claims to be perfectly accurate.
